Screwing up relationships suck. I find they’re a constant battle between satisfying my needs and satisfying their* needs.
(*their = the person I’m trying to have a relationship with)
While Adoration, Admiration, and Appreciation help to build a positive rapport and connection within a relationship, there’s still that damn ego to overcome.
However, sometimes being selfish is the right thing to do.
There’s no denying that being selfish can be bad — especially the manipulative, sociopathic kind of selfishness. However, if we want to prevent people from “walking all over us” setting boundaries, reducing expectations, and following the three A’s is a step in the right direction.
Great ideas, The Good Men Project, thanks for sharing!
